Get moving

Apart from exercise being physically healthy it is also good for our psychological well-being. Research suggests that even mild exercise can have a positive effect. Simply walking a couple of miles each day and walking up and down stairs can do the trick. Exercise not only relieves stress, it also releases naturally produced chemicals that can raise your moods and help reduce adrenaline levels that have been heightened because of anxiety.

Guilt

Some people who are anxious also feel guilty. We often say that we feel guilty but guilt is not so much a feeling as a thought process. When you say you feel guilty it usually means:

You have broken one of your value rules, e.g., ‘I must always be kind and think of other people’s feelings ahead of my own’.

You think only about the outcome of what you believe you have done or not done, e.g., ‘I should have known he would be unhappy’.
